| William Buckingham first opened Loggers Equipment
Sales in 1974 with one parts person and one service
technician. Like any small business getting started,
the first ten years were trying. But with hard work,
determination and a focus on personalized service, we
established a loyal customer base and were able to succeed.
The experience of starting a company from the ground
level has enabled us to appreciate and identify with
many of our customers and work with them through their
growing pains.
We found out long ago that you can only plan for so much and you need
to be flexible to overcome the obstacles thrown
at you. A major part of being flexible as a dealer
is communication with customers. Most large dealers
overlook the importance of being accessible to
their customers on a daily basis, especially when
their machines are down.
You can walk into our dealership and talk to anyone from the mechanics
and parts' technicians, all the way up to the
owners. It is easy to be there for customers when
everything is going well. It’s working together
with them through the rough spots that’s
both challenging and rewarding.
The industry has changed a lot in the past 30
years with large corporations and mega dealers
taking the place of family-owned and operated
dealerships. We have been fortunate to have many
dedicated, long-term employees who share our philosophy
and go out of their way for our customers.
Today, over 30 years later, we still do business with many of the same
loyal customers and in some cases, their second
generations are buying from us. We have a staff
of over 20 employees, most of whom have been with
us for 15 years or more. We moved from our old
location, expanded our facility, and have diversified
into the construction market with Sterling truck
and Daewoo construction franchises. Much has changed
through the years, but our “Open Door”
philosophy and our emphasis on servicing the customer
remains the same.
Up until now only our forestry customers know
who we are and appreciate the service we offer.
Now that we are entering the construction market,
local contractors and excavators are going to
realize that they don’t have to drive an
hour or more to work with mega dealers. We have
everything they are looking for right here. Come
